Our Services
At Migrant Support Network, we deliver practical, rights-based services tailored to the real-life challenges faced by migrant workers, international students, and their families across the UK. All support services for migrants are free of charge, confidential, and culturally sensitive. We also offer paid training and consultancy services for employers committed to ethical practice, legal compliance, and workforce inclusion.
Our services are split into two areas:
At Migrant Support Network, we don’t just respond to problems, we help prevent them. Let’s work together to create a safer, more inclusive future for everyone.
Services for migrants and their families.
We support migrants at all stages of their journey, from arrival and settlement to dealing with workplace issues or accessing local services. Our approach is holistic and grounded in a strong understanding of employment law, immigration rules, and the lived experience of being a migrant in the UK.

Migrant Support Network
1. Employment Rights & Legal Support
Many migrants we support have faced unfair treatment at work – from being underpaid or wrongly dismissed to being asked to work long hours without fair compensation. Some are charged thousands in illegal recruitment fees for jobs that never existed, leaving them in debt bondage or destitution.
We provide:
- Workshops on UK employment law, contracts, and minimum wage rights
- Advice on issues like unpaid wages, unlawful deductions, and unfair dismissal
- Help with ACAS procedures and tribunal preparation
- One-to-one case support and legal signposting

Migrant Support Network
2. Workplace Mediation & Advocacy
For many migrants, speaking up at work can feel impossible. We act as advocates, helping to mediate between employees and employers in cases involving:
- Discrimination or bullying
- Breach of contract
- Exploitation by recruitment agents or third-party providers
- Non-compliance with visa sponsorship duties
We aim to resolve issues informally where possible, but we also support formal processes when needed.
Migrant Support Network
3. Cultural Orientation & Integration Support
Adapting to life in the UK can be overwhelming, especially when navigating unfamiliar systems or cultural norms. We help migrants and their families understand how things work and what their rights are.
Topics covered include:
- Accessing healthcare (GP registration, NHS entitlements)
- Applying for schools and understanding the UK education system
- Tenant rights and housing support
- UK laws, social customs, and community integration
Migrant Support Network
4. Digital Skills, CV Support & Job Preparation
We help migrants gain confidence navigating the UK job market through:
- Digital literacy workshops (email, job applications, navigating platforms)
- CV writing, cover letter drafting, and mock interviews
- Guidance on spotting fake jobs or exploitative employers
We also support migrants transitioning from student visas to sponsored roles or post-study work options.
Migrant Support Network
5. Tutoring & Mentorship for Migrant Children
Children of migrants often struggle to adjust to the UK curriculum, particularly when English isn’t their first language. We offer:
- Free in-person tutoring in English, maths, and science
- Language support for reading, writing, and speaking
- One-to-one mentoring to build confidence and academic engagement
Our goal is to reduce long-term attainment gaps and boost wellbeing for migrant children.
Migrant Support Network
6. Volunteer & Work Placement Support
To help migrants gain UK-based experience, we connect them with short-term work placements and volunteering roles through our partner network. This helps build skills, references, and confidence, especially for international students and newly arrived dependants.
Migrant Support Network
7. Basic Needs & Household Support
Through partnerships with local charities and donation drives, we help migrant families in crisis access essentials such as:
- Furniture and household goods
- School uniforms and children’s clothing
- Laptops, phones, and connectivity resources
